How does the Turbo Scan AI work?
Turbo Scan uses Google's Gemini Vision AI to analyze your receipt photo and extract the vendor name, date, subtotal, HST, and total. Just tap "Scan Receipts", take a photo, and the data is filled in automatically. You can always edit the result before saving.
How many free scans do I get?
The Free plan includes 5 receipt scans per month. Upgrade to Plus for 50 scans/month, or Pro for unlimited scans. Scan counts reset at the start of each calendar month.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open your iPhone Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → MapleTax → Cancel Subscription. You must cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date to avoid being charged for the next period. You'll retain access until the end of your current billing period.
Is my data safe and backed up?
Yes. Paid plan data is stored securely in Supabase with AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS in transit. Free plan receipts are stored locally on your device. Pro plan subscribers have 6-year encrypted cloud backup to meet CRA retention requirements.
Can MapleTax file my taxes for me?
No. MapleTax is a record-keeping and expense tracking tool, not a tax filing service. It helps you organize receipts and calculate HST, but you are responsible for your own tax filings. We recommend working with a qualified accountant for tax advice.
How does the HST auto-calculation work?
In the receipt editor, tap "AUTO 13% HST" to automatically calculate Ontario's HST rate on your subtotal. This applies the standard 13% HST rate. If your province has a different rate, you can manually enter the correct HST amount.
How do I export my receipts?
From the Dashboard, tap "CSV Export" for a spreadsheet-compatible file, or "PDF Report" for a formatted document with your business info. PDF export requires a Plus or Pro plan. Both formats are accepted by most accountants and are CRA-compatible.
How do I delete my account and data?
Email us at [email protected] with your account email and a deletion request. We'll delete your account and associated data within 30 days, subject to any legal retention obligations under Canadian law.
